UPDATE: Check out THIS PAGE on how to "Shop Your Stash"!!
While I've been making stuff off and on this Spring, I realized that I wasn't using my Gossamer Blue Life Pages kits. Or crafting unless otherwise necessary or needed. I had lost my mojo. I've been working on a ton of stuff lately, including a TON of wedding decorations (post to come later!!)... But my poor GB LP kits have been sitting. And stacking up. So I cancelled them. They are gorgeous, amazing, as in, I am kicking myself that I won't have the new stuff... But the deal that I made with myself was that if I wasn't going to use my products in that month, I had to cancel. And I gave myself a bunch of leeway while completing my National Boards, but I haven't created a weekly layout since March. Not. Good.
So, I'm back to using up all of my fun stuff in my stash. And I challenged myself to make a Counterfeit Kit that was reminiscent of August's AMAZING!! Gossamer Blue kit. I mean, bokeh, and woodgrain, and OMG that blue!!!! Seriously, Lori Gentile has an UH-MAZING eye for mixing (and her customer service is insanely awesome).
For my Counterfeit Kit, you'll notice that I pulled from a ton of different lines, companies, and seriously, two of the patterned papers are Christmas! Who knew! Rather than the bokeh, I went with polka dots, and pulled one of my favorite pieces of Sass paper that I have squirreled away for rainy days. I thought I could stamp on the kraft or even the cork sticker for a similar effect to the pieces that she put in the kit, and finally have a good reason to use up my woodgrain enamel dots! I can't wait to start using it!! (Just in case you were wondering... my craft room has a cork floor that's peeking out on both sides...)

Just a Couple of Layouts :)
If you've been reading my blog, you know that I love making my own kits from my personal stash. I did again for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I took this kit and created this:
Here is the first layout I made from this kit. I just loved using my stash of Sassafras papers. I can't just let them sit where they cannot be seen anymore... Plus, I got to use some of my lovely HeyDay papers!! And a super cute Hipstamatic pic of my lovely Miss R. If you cannot tell... She doesn't sleep much.
And this lovely and bright layout with an older pic (one of my favorites!) of Miss I. This is just the most perfect visual for her personality. I loved all of the washi and layers.
Thanks for looking! I will upload the last of my month of Gratitude. Pin It

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: Bicycle Stamped Card
I love my Counterfeit Kit. Okay, so I really love most every counterfeit kit that I make. More because I actually use the supplies that I probably wouldn't think about going to right away when creating things. In this case, I never once used this cute bicycle stamp before this card. Since it is a featured piece of my counterfeit kit, I can foresee many more uses before I run out of this kit.
I will probably use this kit all throughout June instead of creating one specifically for June. Not that I don't want to create a new one, I just have almost a completed kit still in the bag. I've been a little lax in creating this month. Pin It

Cute Cards!
Loving my Counterfeit Kit for the month of May!! Seriously, I love when kits just go perfectly the way I want them to. In this case, the cards are just pretty darn cute. I even have one more that I used the cute bicycle stamp on!! That one, I'm saving for tomorrow...
The first one was a lovely little card for my mom's birthday, and the second is for a friend that I do miss. I would love to brighten her day just a little bit. I have a bunch more cards to make this weekend, and a few layouts to work on as well. Just for me.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: May Kit!! & Giveaway
As most of you already know, I love Counterfeit Kits. I have a pretty large stash, and don't really need to buy any more (even though I sometimes do...) Any time I can use up what I already own, and make it a fun challenge is even more fun! This month's kit is using Studio Calico's City of Lights kit. Which is pretty fun with it's pastels, greys, greens, blues, pinks and florals. Also, it has a grouping of fun lettering and BICYCLES! And I had the perfect stamp for this, my American Crafts Peachy Keen stamp set.
Loving all of the cute greens. Which is fun, because I never really use a ton of green. Good thing I got some great MME, Sassafras Lass, AC Peachy Keen, Cosmo Cricket and other fun florals and plain papers. I just love those Sass and Crate Paper florals.
See the cute stamp!! Isn't it just perfect! Love the khaki and grey lettering.
And a fantastic little card kit. Now this card kit doesn't have any card bases because... I'M GIVING IT AWAY!! Yup, that's right. You can win this card kit! Comment on this post before Wednesday May 9, at 11:59 PM. It's super cute and all ready to make some cute Mother's Day/Wedding/Birthday/Spring loveliness. (PS. I love new followers!)
I even included a plastic fork with both three kinds of washi tape and two kinds of lovely twine. Yup, a plastic fork. It's actually the perfect way to take small amounts of washi and twine places!!
Good luck!! Pin It

MWM Amethyst #1 and Crop Challenges!!
I was actually able to scrap EVERYTHING for the www.scrapbooksteals.com Online Crop Challenge!! I love when the SS team has their Ustream chats, both online and video. It's just so much fun to see the ladies in all their glory, as well as be jealous of some of the lovely ladies that actually get to spend time in Utah with them!!
I got Hipstamatic's additional app that takes photo booth photos called, IncrediBooth. Gotta love anything that creates amazing photographs!! Anyway, Kristy Lee over at SS created a wonderful sketch that included photo strips! So, I got to use them!! I created a collage in Picasa, and it was super easy. I added another cute Hipstamatic photo of Miss I, and used all of my lovely Amy Tangerine AC papers and embellies!!
AC Amy Tangerine papers and embellishments, Cosmo Cricket Alphas
Challenge #2: Keepin' it Real
This photograph looks super sweet, right? Can you tell that she's actually wearing my sweatshirt, and has of course passed out? Oh yeah, this is a wonderful day of no nap, throwing stuff all over the grandparents' house, and having a potty training accident, with no extra clothes. After throwing a huge fit, she passed out in the car and we refused to go home until she woke up. Gotta love two year olds, right?
Echo Park Little Girl, Fancy Pants chipboard from my Counterfeit Kit, AC kraft, chalk inks
Challenge #3: Scrap that Stash!
My stash is located in my back laundry/extra/spare room. I tend however, to use the kitchen table for all creating though... And boy does it need some cleaning!!
COUNTERFEIT KIT CONTENTS: Sassafras Lass papers, Foldies, Paper Whimsies, AC Thickers, MME DeLovely paper, BG Curio paper
Challenge #4: Something Old, Something New
If you've noticed, I love my Sassafras Lass papers. Now that they are no longer creating product that isn't involved with Studio Calico... I've been super hoarding my stash. This paper set was purchased in 2005-06. I remember it, because it was during one of T's first business trips. Anyway... this layout had to include Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and/or Something Blue. The old is the paper, as is the blue in the paper and letters, and the new is our new baby that will be born in June!
Sassafras Lass Hog Heaven papers and stickers, SL flowers and In a Stitch Blooms, and SL alphas
Challenge #5: Photo Challenge for the Online Chatters Only!!This was from the online chat. I took separate photos and created a collage. We had to include the following:
1.
2 sheets of patterned papers for each ROYGBIV (14 total)
2.
17 buttons
3.
1 photo of ourselves
4.
chipboard or letter alphas that say “I love scrapbooksteals” or "I <3 SS"
5.
1 piece of chocolate
6.
pinwheel
7.
1 pair of decorative scissors
8.
and an adhesive runner

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: February 2012 Kit
I'm going to do the Counterfeit Kit Challenge again. Last time, I made my kit SOOOO big, that I didn't use hardly any of it. Or at least, that's how it felt. This time, I tried to scale down the paper selection so that it was a little more manageable. I used the Valentine's themed Kit "You+Me" as the basis of my inspiration. Anyway, here are the elements!!
PAPER
Teresa Collins: Travel Ledger-Travel Words
Echo Park: Little Boy-Borders
Sassafras Lass: Sweetly Smitten-Heartfelt
Crate Paper: Portrait Collection-Accent Cuts
Basic Grey: Curio-Cotton (B)
American Crafts: The Classics-Canterbury Tales & kraft
My Little Shoebox-Farmer's Market-Cherries Jubilee (B)
Sassafras Lass: Paper Crush-Pitter Patter
Sassafras Lass: Paper Crush-Sweet Smooches (B)
My Minds Eye: Be-Loved-Lovely Loops
My Minds Eye: Be-Loved-Affectionate Flowers
My Minds Eye: Alphabet Soup-Sunny Stripes
My Minds Eye: Be-Loved-Passionate Paisley
My Minds Eye: Be-Loved-Dearest Dots
My Minds Eye: Lush-Pink Large Polka Dots
My Minds Eye: Alphabet Soup-Little Princess (B)
My Minds Eye: Be-Loved-Sweet Hearts (cut piece)
EMBELLISHMENTS
Sassafras Lass Foldies
Cosmo Cricket Ready-Set-Chip: Togetherness
Sassafras Lass stickers, Paper Whimsies, In-a-Stitch Blooms, Vintage Brooch
MME Lush Rhinestones, Buttons, Bohemia Ribbon
American Crafts Mementos, Bits, Buttons
Teresa Collins Bling
Fancy Pants Chipboard Shapes
Wilton doilies
Prima mini flowers
Twinery twine
AMuse wooden circle
ALPHABETS
AC Thickers: Hardcover (teal, kraft) & Sweet (red)
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type (clear red & red)
Scenic Route kraft
Here are some details of the kit. I really wanted to include some various kraft elements, both in paper and in the embellishments in order to really follow the kraft in the original kit. I did want to add a few more colors and embellishments than the original kit had however. It seemed light on those elements.
I also included a lot of teals and red. My kit has more teals than the original one, but I own a TON of those colors. I also wanted this to not look only like a Valentine's kit, so wanted the brights to be a part of the kit.
And because I know that this is a holiday month, I am planning on making a couple of small gifts.
EXTRAS
Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini book
Moleskine ruled notebooks
Kraft bags
I really like the multipurpose nature of this kit. I know that I will be making some Valentine's and birthday cards with this, as well as a few gifts for people. Super excited to get started!!

Every kit needs the perfect embellishments. I included some that could be Valentine's (Bits), and a lot that could just be great additions to any scrapbook kit.
Some of these embellishments have been sitting around my craft area for quite awhile. I may as well use them, and not just save them for later. And those doilies are just too fun. Bling too!And because I know that this is a holiday month, I am planning on making a couple of small gifts.

Yes, I actually scrapped in Salt Lake City...
Here are a few of the many cards that I made using my new October (Fall themed) Counterfeit kit. I really need to get the photos for it up, but they weren't that great... So I've not been in a huge rush to post them.
Anyway, there are two girly cards to start. The first is perfect for a birthday, and the second just a great hello card. I even added Stickles to the multi-colored stamped candles.
The rest are just an assortment. I love all the woodgrain, pinks and blues!
While I wasn't looking, my friend Venetia added the "sexy" underneath the "Hello". I thought it was funny, so it stays.
Just a LOVE card. 'Nuff said.
This is for a cutey 7 year old's birthday in December. Her favorite color is orange. So I added an orange banner!
This is another oddly-sized card. I thought I was cutting the right size of paper. Nope. Oh well. It will fit into a standard envelope quite easily.
Hope you enjoy! Tomorrow is a few more Authentique projects!! Pin It
