AUTHENTIQUE PAPER: Happy Valentine's Day from the Design Team!

I turned a Target Dollar Spot ornament and pieces from the Romance Collection into a fabulous Valentine's wall hanging. You could easily use this as a larger ornament or home decor item. The twine is also detachable, so if you wanted a small stand, that would also work. 

The heart is hand cut from a piece of Romance Three. Before it was inked with Distress Oxide inks, I also used a Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Scallop Circle Window die in the place where the heart's "heart" would be. This was where I added the interest to this piece.

I layered die cuts from the Elements die cut sheet, as well as various flowers and Pretty Pink Posh Water Droplets. The last detail was to glue a piece of 3/8" Mini Pom Pom Ribbon in White by May Arts.

PAPER GIRLS CHALLENGE BLOG: Challenge #158 - Summer Sweet Treats

For this challenge, I've been saving this super adorable stamp set from Avery Elle. I watercolored each of the images with bright colors, and paired each of the images with some fun things from my stash.

I love using things from my stash, and adding stamped and colored images along with those is an easy way to create fun and easy cards.

The last touches I added were clear gems, Clear Sparkle pen (Spectrum Noir) on the ice cream, and some glossy accents on the popsicle.

AUTHENTIQUE PAPER: "Infused" Pocket Letters

Make sure that you go over to the Authentique Paper blog and check out my versions (three in total!!) of Pocket Letters! I'll give you a couple of sneak peeks of my Pocket Letter that uses the fantastic newer line, Infused. I love the tea and sweets concept. It's just a perfect pair for the tea that I am sending to my lovely Pocket Letter pal!

Happy Anniversary Card using Lawn Fawn!

My husband and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary. 10 years!! It was important to come up with a special and fun card, and I really loved the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Love You Tons stamp set. I paired the elephant stamps with the coordinating Lawn Cuts in Love You Tons as well.

I then colored them with Spectrum Noir pens. Layered some stamped hearts with die cut hearts using the Lawn Cuts Hearts set. The papers are both 6x6 papers from Authentique's Suave Collection (teal) and Studio Calico's Darling Dear (blue patterned paper).

Shaker Card with Pretty Pink Posh!!!

 Okay... So this is a little about Pretty Pink Posh, and a little about my new Lawn Fawn. I couldn't resist trying my hand at a shaker card for the first time... LOTS! of learning curves to be had there. I'll go into that in just a moment. Paulina at Pretty Pink Posh is also having a fun blog hop with Shaker Cards, and I couldn't resist taking just a moment to join in the fun!

I used my Lawn Fawn Say Cheese die, along with the Hearts Lawn Cuts and some watercolored paper. The sentiment is from the Hello Friend Lawn Fawn sentiment set. To create the shaker, I layered some packaging from a box that I cut from the Say Cheese die, and used a piece of plastic from some embellisments.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and then embossed it with white embossing powder. To create the chalkboard effect, I used VersaMagic chalk ink. The sequins are all from Pretty Pink Posh in Marshmallow, Onyx and Pink Peonies. LOVE! I had to shake up the card and snap a pic. Couldn't resist! Thanks for looking!!

Happy Birthday Pretty Pink Posh!!!

I haven't participated in forever (or at least it seems like it), but it's Pretty Pink Posh's 1st birthday! Paulina over at PPP is having some fun with blog hops, challenges, prizes and the works. This week's 10 Minute Craft Dash was all birthday related, and I was able to use my fun gold Delicata (ImagineCrafts) ink in a great way.

Awhile ago, I watched a cute Lawn Fawn video that used the backs of the stamps to create a bokeh effect. I totally snagged the idea, used the gold ink, and made fun circles of color. Stamped a sentiment and that was it!! Under 10 minutes (8:32), and totally cute.

Pretty Pink Posh Craft Dash Marathon

Seriously... These Pretty Pink Posh Craft Dash cardmaking challenges are a serious blast. One day, I'm going to have to attempt a layout using the same idea. Today, I have three challenges that I completed both last night and today. SO much fun!!



This card uses a My Mind's Eye card base, some Simple Stories Sn@p paper, a few sequins, some misting, and a May Arts ribbon. I pop dotted that bicycle image to make it more dimensional. I loved the bright colors on this card, and I know of a few people that would love having this sent to them.

I knew when I saw this color palette, I knew that I wanted to create a cute birthday card using the fun pink, aqua and brown. I also had a perfect set of Thickers that I was planning on using. On this card I used some Core'dinations paper, Echo Park and MME patterned papers, a few Studio Calico chipboard pieces, fabulous brown Thickers, and a cute teal sequin. I really love those sequins. I also used my Silhouette and a Project Life cut for part of the sentiment.

To be honest, (and I think I've said this before...) I'm not a stamper. Not really. I try... I'm getting better. And I really have paid attention to a few of my fellow crafters who are MUCH better at stamping than I. I'm actually pretty proud of this little card. It uses some Crate Paper patterned paper, and MME and Studio Calico stamps. The inks are all from Memento (ImagineCrafts).

Pretty Pink Posh Challenge #18: Green, Yellow & Violet

I'm really loving the challenges from Pretty Pink Posh. This week's challenge was combining green, yellow and violet. I never knew how many companies shy away from violet until I really started looking for the color in all of my stash.

I remember chatting with Samanatha over at Authentique about this over a year ago. And she created a fantastic line that includes a deeper violet than I could use for this project in her Remembrance line. However, for this card, I used a combination of Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes) and Simple Stories. For all of my embellishments: MME enamel dots, May Arts ribbon and some sequins from JoAnns.

This one uses a few layers of dimensional adhesive. I now know why the ladies at PPP suggest tape. It ate up quite a bit of time to take off the plastic off of each piece of adhesive. And my ribbon was too big for the sentiment tag. So I made a knot. Love it!!

Pretty Pink Posh Challenge #17

I love a challenge. I recently found the Pretty Pink Posh blog from the Gossamer Blue blog. It was a fun challenge that I participated in a few weeks ago. Since then, I've signed up for their emails to remind me when their next challenge is, and I'm working on a few past ones to sharpen my skills (and build up my card stash...)

This challenge was from a few weeks ago, but I really loved the color palette. Kraft, melon and aqua... Who wouldn't love that?

I will admit that I was playing around on my Silhouette awhile ago, and made a card cut file for this adorable envelope card. Well... I gathered a bunch of elements that I liked, placed them all on the same "page" and realized that I could cut them out and layer them later.

A few things about this card... I used spray glue. YUP! Spray glue!! You'll notice that the sentiment went a little wonky. Oh well. Don't care. It works. I also used ink to color the arrow. And everything is not quite perfect. And my response... I don't think the recipient will care one iota.

It is a pretty cute little card, is it not? Play with Pretty Pink Posh soon!! It really is a fun challenge.
