June 2016 Projects From the June Gossamer Blue Main Kit

I had to wait a few days to break into my June Main Kit from Gossamer Blue. Summer just started, and we are already having a blast at a our house. The girls and I crafted quite a bit today, and here is what I ended up with!

I loved this Pinkfresh paper. It went perfect with this lovely black and white photograph of the wonderful spot in the painting studio of my alma mater. The flair is from my stash, and the sequins are from an older GB Life Pages kit.
This photo sums up my littlest to a tee. She's funny, she's silly, and she's all mine. I added a little bit of black cardstock and a print and cut file by Simple Stories.
We have spent much of our Spring at some lovely T-Ball games. My little player is fierce, bold, and such a good team player.
I think I craft about this little monster every time I have a set of projects. The past month or so, he has put us through the ringer. A few issues and a few visits to the vet. Thank goodness that's over now. I love all of the pops of black, and the enamel dots.
And of course a few cards. I snagged an older GB Life Pages card, using some Glossy Accents on the balloons for a great birthday card. The other two use another print and cut, this one by Amy Tangerine.

I think I will try to figure out how many extra cards I can make with the little bits and pieces that are leftover from the June Main Kit. I'm guessing about eight more :)

Quick Cards from Gossamer Blue Kits

EEK! Sometimes I seriously just take the last little bits of a kit and toss it with some cardstock and card bases to see how many different cards I can make. This set was made using the Gossamer Blue March Main Kit waaaaaaay back from March 2014. I've been hanging onto these beautiful leftover bits since then.

How do you use your scraps? Leave me a link and I'll come check them out!! Pin It

Gossamer Blue Life Pages (January 6-12)

This was a fun week. Mostly. We got back into the routine of non-Christmas vacation. Had a bit of 12th Man fever. GO SEAHAWKS! Miss I was able to go to TinkerTopia (and be on local TV!) and I figured out how to comb those My Little Pony dolls from Build-a-Bear (wig brush, warm water and detangler).

In the midst of the January Gossamer Blue kit, I mixed in some of my Elle's Studio stash, and whatever letter stickers I could find. This month uses some Fancy Pants chipboard, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type and Basic Grey stickers.
If you are in the greater South Sound area, I suggest checking out TinkerTopia. It's a "Creative Reuse Center" that blends recycling and art. It's pretty darn fun!
I loved the sweet pics from this week. I love capturing honest, wonderful moments of pure joy. Pin It

Little Dancer (Gossamer Blue September 2013 Kit)

This past June, my oldest got to dance in her first ballet recital. Every other year, the local YMCA dance classes rent out this beautifully large theater downtown and they all perform. Miss I's first year in ballet was just this such year. She got to wear a wonderfully lovely yellow dress and dance to The Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun". Being a huge Beatles fan, I was in love that she now knows all the words to such a beautiful song.
For this layout, I used all of the lovely pieces from Gossamer Blue's September kit. I just loved that arrow stamp, and repeated it a few times. I also added a My Mind's Eye puffy geotag, and a Fancy Pants cork arrow.

I Think I Found My Mojo Again!

Honestly, I've been in a creative funk. It happens once in awhile. I go to my crafty area often and just stare at all the stuff. I made a couple of cards (I'm saving that post I promised for tomorrow!!), but that's about it for the last couple of weeks. Until today :)

This is how I started my morning. I have been staring at this wonderful Elle's Studio sketch for a couple of days, and finally pulled it all together. I used a lot of my Elle's Studio products on this one too! And my July Gossamer Blue kit. I love how I got the title to tie into the pink on the edges. It kind of looks like it was cut out of the background paper. And used my Xyron 1½" Create-A-Sticker Machine on the vellum and the smaller die cuts. Only way to go!! I also used my Silhouette sketch pens for the circles, and my Wink of Stella pen to enhance the title.
I saw this mornings's Aquamarine #6 MWM, and fell in love. Melodee outdid herself with the wonderful clothesline look. I used these adorable AMuse clothespins, but split them in half, then used a silver pen to mimic the metal. This way, they weren't so thick. Then I used my Xyron 1½" Create-A-Sticker Machine on most of the Fancy Pants die cuts and pieces from July's Gossamer Blue kit. It works perfectly on those little things! (Twinery twine)
Okay, so this one I had created a few weeks ago and just forgot to share. It's using both my GB kit, and a TON of Elle's products. I loved how the MWM Aquamarine #3 Sketch used a ton of little bits and pieces, so I "threw" some paint splatters on (get it, threw... HAHAHA! Okay, my jokes are lame today!), and used ALL of the colors in this month's kit. It's perfect when you are documenting a color run!! I even die cut one of the 4x6 Elle's Studio journaling papers and layered different colors behind it!
I am not waiting this long to make more stuff!! <3 br=""> Pin It

MWAH! - Scrapbook Steals MWM Peridot 4

I am loving this month's Gossamer Blue box. And my May Elle's Studio kit... SWOON!!!! Seriously. The two combined are even better. In love. I cannot wait to see what is available next month!!!

In this layout, I wanted to use bright colors. I loved the Echo Park woodgrain. I had to use it for my "solid" background. In love!! The Fancy Pants Down By the Shore anchors were adorable. And that Jillibean Soup green pattern was fantastic. All of the embellishments were just too fun.
I loved the "Book Report" journaling tag. It's going to be quite awhile before Isla is actually reading, so I just used it for my journaling.

I used the ScrapbookSteals.com Mid-Week Mojo for the sketch. I love using sketches!! Melodee's are pretty darn fun too!! Check them out every Wednesday at 9 am MST. Pin It

I Love Long (Productive) Weekends!!

It's Memorial Day weekend. Yeah!! This means, a four day weekend spent hanging with family and friends, crafting, having a few beverages, and generally preparing for summer. I spent some time crafting with my wonderful Gossamer Blue May kit. I really loved all of the bright colors. And I have to admit... I seriously considered getting my girls matching sailor type outfits to go with the anchors. I looked... Then walked away.

The first layout is a cute sketch that was on the Elle's Studio blog. I really loved the triangles, and wanted to use my Silhouette to cut out the triangles out of the main paper. This way, they would be perfectly spaced out. I'm such a Seattle girl. I love me some Starbucks. And sadly, they coffee co. plays a part in quite a few of my layouts... This one is focused on the new Clover Machine. If you haven't had a Clover coffee, you really need to try. It is the most perfectly brewed cup of coffee ever. They brew them singly. AMAZING!
As you can see, I used quite a few things from my ever-growing stash of Elle's Studio products. Love local (they are a Washington company!!)

For the second, I was inspired by this blog post on the Gossamer Blue blog. Unfortunately, my layout sat unfinished for over a week. I finally had enough time to finish it. I also really wanted to put a song phrase as my title. I kind of love this one. The little BG envelope has some hidden journalling. And those enamel dots... SWOON!
Lastly, I really liked this paper. It's Echo Park from their new line All About a Boy. I really wanted to focus on the color, as it is Miss I's favorite. And it also matched the wonderful quilt that my aunt made for me. And again... Elle's Studio and enamel dots. LOVE!
I don't think I'm done crafting. Seriously... I have a few more things up my sleeve :) Pin It

MWM Amethyst #1 and Crop Challenges!!

I was actually able to scrap EVERYTHING for the www.scrapbooksteals.com Online Crop Challenge!! I love when the SS team has their Ustream chats, both online and video. It's just so much fun to see the ladies in all their glory, as well as be jealous of some of the lovely ladies that actually get to spend time in Utah with them!!

Challenge #1: Amethyst Mid Week Mojo Sketch #1
I  got Hipstamatic's additional app that takes photo booth photos called, IncrediBooth. Gotta love anything that creates amazing photographs!! Anyway, Kristy Lee over at SS created a wonderful sketch that included photo strips! So, I got to use them!! I created a collage in Picasa, and it was super easy. I added another cute Hipstamatic photo of Miss I, and used all of my lovely Amy Tangerine AC papers and embellies!!
AC Amy Tangerine papers and embellishments, Cosmo Cricket Alphas

Challenge #2: Keepin' it Real
This photograph looks super sweet, right? Can you tell that she's actually wearing my sweatshirt, and has of course passed out? Oh yeah, this is a wonderful day of no nap, throwing stuff all over the grandparents' house, and having a potty training accident, with no extra clothes. After throwing a huge fit, she passed out in the car and we refused to go home until she woke up. Gotta love two year olds, right?
Echo Park Little Girl, Fancy Pants chipboard from my Counterfeit Kit, AC kraft, chalk inks

Challenge #3: Scrap that Stash!
My stash is located in my back laundry/extra/spare room. I tend however, to use the kitchen table for all creating though... And boy does it need some cleaning!!
COUNTERFEIT KIT CONTENTS: Sassafras Lass papers, Foldies, Paper Whimsies, AC Thickers, MME DeLovely paper, BG Curio paper

Challenge #4: Something Old, Something New
If you've noticed, I love my Sassafras Lass papers. Now that they are no longer creating product that isn't involved with Studio Calico... I've been super hoarding my stash. This paper set was purchased in 2005-06. I remember it, because it was during one of T's first business trips. Anyway... this layout had to include Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and/or Something Blue. The old is the paper, as is the blue in the paper and letters, and the new is our new baby that will be born in June!
Sassafras Lass Hog Heaven papers and stickers, SL flowers and In a Stitch Blooms, and SL alphas

Challenge #5: Photo Challenge for the Online Chatters Only!!
This was from the online chat. I took separate photos and created a collage. We had to include the following:

1.     2 sheets of patterned papers for each ROYGBIV (14 total)
2.     17 buttons
3.     1 photo of ourselves
4.     chipboard or letter alphas that say “I love scrapbooksteals” or "I <3 SS"
5.     1 piece of chocolate
6.     pinwheel
7.     1 pair of decorative scissors
8.     and an adhesive runner

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: Gift #1

I haven't gotten to craft as much as I usually like to lately. We've had some illness floating around our house for a few weeks... and it's not been too much fun. Thankfully, we are all on the mend, which means that I get to spend my free time crafting and not doing extra chores!! WOOHOO!

For this project, I used my Counterfeit Kit to create a little gift for my sweet friend Karen. I covered one of my Moleskine notebooks with some sweet Basic Grey paper, an oh-so-cute doily, a few Sassafras stickers, Fancy Pants chipboard, and tied it all together with some twine, AC washi tape, Tiny Type and a cute bling.
I know this is an iPhone pic... But oh well. It will have to do today! In this case, I wanted Karen to have her gift right after I made it.

Totally loving the Counterfeit Kit Challenge!! I'm using up my stash of supplies!!

Layout Overload...

Here are few layouts to catch up, and a couple for some challenges over at ScrapbookSteals.

Challenge #4: Gender Swap
The goal of this was to create a layout using products designed for the opposite sex.
For this layout, I used Basic Grey's "Oliver" paper and buttons, a BG "Olivia" journaling tag and paperclip, and Sassafras Lass Paper Whimsies.

Challenge #3: Summer Fun
In this layout, we were given this image to look at, and make some kind of summery layout or card from it! I used BoBunny "Sun-Kissed" line for the paper and stickers, and AC Thickers for the 2011.

Challenge #1, otherwise known as... MWM #48
I happen to LOVE My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found" collection, and was SUPER excited when ScrapbookSteals had it as one of their steals!! The only thing I didn't like about Portabello Road, was the super thin twine that was in the pennant stickers. So, I swapped it out for some of my Twinery twine in Blossom. Lovely!! I fussy-cut the "perfect" and the other glittered image. I haven't quite figured out exactly what I want to have the layout say yet... So I'm waiting for the right inspiration to hit. I am planning on typing this out in a handwriting font, then attaching it in strips underneath the photograph. I'll update when I'm complete :)

MWM #43: New Friends
For this layout, I used "It's the Small Things" from Fancy Pants. It has FP paper, Glitter Cuts, and ribbon that I was sent as a prize from the Fancy Pants facebook page. I also used my iRock bling, a couple of Studio Calico tickets and some Glossy Accents to highlight the cute bird on the small journaling strip. To add more definition, I also inked the edges of each paper with my Chalk ink in Charcoal. Pin It
