(NBCT) Seriously SO Awesome (November Shop Your Stash Kit)

Okay, so the road to becoming a Nationally Board Certified Teacher has been a long a bumpy one. The road to finding out that I became Certified was far more hilarious. The short version: one of my friends and I and our oldest kids went to our HS football game, where on the way back I checked my phone "just in case" they released scores early... Where I said a loud word (I won't repeat it!), and made some funny noise and started giggling. Pretty exciting.
I know the layout is simple... But Man, that was a lot of work :)

Supplies are all from the November Shop Your Stash Kit. Pin It

And That Makes Peridot 1-10: ScrapbookSteals.com

Most every week, I try to do a layout alongside of ScrapbookSteals.com. My lovely friend Melodee has been the Mojo Mama for this series. It's lovely to see her (and a guest designer or two) create wonderful sketches each week. I've used some of my Gossamer Blue June kit, some MME Alphabet Soup, and leftovers from my April Gossamer Blue kit.

A Daddy's Love (ScrapbookSteals' MWM Peridot 8)

I love sketches. And I love Elle's Studio. Combining the two was pretty fun. I even broke out part of my Gossamer Blue March kit and one of my sacred (okay... I'm trying to use my Sass stash more!) Sassafras Lass Starters papers as my background paper. There's even a tiny bit of plain paper in there. And slightly hidden journaling behind the Elle's vellum heart paper from the May 2013 kit.

If you would like to play along (and I suggest that you do!!) Here is the linked sketch.

Supplies Used:
Elle's Studio: Day To Day Paper, Good Morning, Lil' Snippets (Day to Day & Days of the Week), Serendipity Tiny Tags, You and Me Note Tags, June 2013 & May 2013 kits.

Other Supplies: MME enamel dots, Sassafras Lass Starters, Studio Calico heart, Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine, AC cardstock, MME patterned paper, LillyBee alphabet stickers Pin It

For a Lovely Friend

I created today. Which is big, because we've been complete sickies in our house. Finally, I and the little Miss are okay. The Big Miss was still out today. Although she's started arguing with me today, which I'm going to take as a good sign that she's feeling better.
Here is the lovely little card that I made for my lovely friend Melissa. It's her birthday today, and I know that she'd LOVE some well wishes!! I used the August Gossamer Blue kit that I won last year, some October Afternoon Sprinklers in Hopscotch and a Stella & Rose sticker. I just love those kits, especially when I get to the ends and get to start using them as card kits.

PS. Melissa... This is going to be a little late :) Pin It

Scraplift with Crate Paper's Fourteen...

I was playing around this weekend with my February Gossamer Blue kit and ran into a challenge... How to use the Sparks paper from Crate Paper's Fourteen line. It's a pretty fantastic chevron-ish paper. Super bold, super pretty, but kind of hard to use.

I knew that I had already pinned a fantastic layout using this paper, so found it and scraplifted away!! Here is the original image from one of Crate Paper's Design Team members, Katie Ehmann. I loved how she used vellum and her Cameo to create a background design.
I decided to use a fun background that I had not used yet, Chevron Stripes from the Silhouette Online Store. I didn't want the entire square, but wanted all of the fun pattern, so squished it into a 4x11" rectangle. The vellum was from a Studio Calico kit awhile back, and had feathers on it, but since the pattern was pretty complicated you cannot even tell.
Rather than all of the patterned papers, I simplified the color scheme to mainly grays, and used pops of red and fuchsia from my GB kit.  I also used just one photo of my biggest, Miss I. She's one of my absolute favorite people in the world. I just love her spunky nature and all of the funny things she says. Pin It

Cute January GB Card

I love when my kits get down to just enough paper and embellishments to create cards. Because all of the elements already go together and match so well, it's easy just to take pieces and create great little cards to send away. This sweet little card is for a scrappy friend who just had a little baby. And not to leave out the new Big Sister, I created a little badge for her using my Cameo. Cuteness!

Gossamer Blue Guest Design Challenge with My Mind's Eye

It's no secret that I love my monthly dose of Gossamer Blue. If I wasn't at work when the postman came, I think I would probably start stalking him about the time my GB box was to arrive. This last month, GB had a challenge for a Guest Design spot featuring My Mind's Eye products. Just another reason to go and snag some more of their enamel dots!!
For this layout, I combined quite a few new and older lines together. Stella & Rose, Alphabet Soup, Collectible and The Sweetest Thing with a little bit of twine and white cardstock. Seriously though... I love those enamel dots!! Pin It

February's Pinspired with Gossamer Blue Challenge

I often stumble through Pinterest pinning random things to all of my boards. However, it's not often that I actually go through and create something based on anything I pin. Which is kind of unfortunate, because I do pin cute stuff all of the time. I'm trying to get better about it, and actually create things. When Gossamer Blue started their new "Pinspired with Gossamer Blue Challenge", I was completely tempted to join in. I also needed a couple of cards, so it was a perfect excuse to play along. HERE is my inspiration pin, and it's from the Glitz Design Team located HERE. I couldn't find the original post, sorry...
This lovely little pretty was created for my mom. She needed a little bit of cheering up, and it's perfect for her. Bright, cheery, and has green. I also used some more of the bits and pieces of my January Gossamer Blue kit.

This next card uses Authentique's Lovely Collection. I have used almost every scrap of this collection. It's just that perfect. Seriously. If you haven't snagged it all up before it goes away, make sure that you do! It's just beautiful.
I think one day I might just have to make a tutorial on how to get that ribbon... I'm not sure how the original cardmaker did it, but I sure have a fun trick!

Gossamer Blue: I'm Only Sleeping...

One of my favorite Beatles songs, and album. Revolver. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! And it's a perfect title for this sweet layout using January's Gossamer Blue kit.
For this project, I also used Scrapbook Steals' MWM Sketch for Jade 8. I love how the bubbles in the OA paper are reflected in the Teresa Collins enamel dots. And I got to use the sparkly Thickers!! Pin It

Gossamer Blue: Project 12, the January Edition

I love the idea of Project: Life. The idea is fantastic. However, I don't really have the time. And currently, with two kids three and under, the energy. I have the tools. I got sleeves last Christmas, and bought a few more sets of the other sizes. So when Gossamer Blue started their Project 12, I knew that I could keep this version up. I started in December making a title page for the book. And officially started January 2013.
While I know that most people aren't going to be interested in the silly things that I or my family does, I know that my children one day will. I think it's going to be nice for them to read about what really went on each month.
I decided to put a "Highlights" section in each month. Not all events are photographed, and not all I really need to. However, I wanted to let the girls know that we did do events each month.
I used phone photos for this. It was fun being able to snap pics throughout the month of cute things the girls did, silly stuff to remember, Hipstamatic pics of random things.
And journaling. In my own handwriting. With a little bit of die-cuts from my Cameo. <3 br="">
I hope that you enjoyed seeing just a few of my fun little sections. While it's out of my normal scrapbooking style, it was lots of fun to do. Pin It

Studio Calico Layouts...

With the move, and all of the craziness that we've been going through (sick kids, work, I still cannot find matching clothes)... I forgot to upload a few of my latest Studio Calico Kit layouts. These are both from the Roller Rink kit. Mind you, these were completed BEFORE the move :)
I kind of love both of my girls. <3 br="br">

And Then There Was a Challenge: Counterfeit Kit

Remember that "counterfeit" kit that I created using this month's Studio Calico Summer of '69 kit as inspiration? Well, my lovely friend Brenda decided to follow suit, then challenged me (LOVE IT!) to find a layout that I wanted to scraplift from the SC. I used this opportunity to find a layout that I loved, but it wasn't my normal style.

I simply loved Geralyn Sy's layout Tokyo:
I just loved how super fun and graphic it was. I really wanted to use those huge letters in a title, include washi tape and journaling, and use ORANGE. A color that I like, but never really include in well, anything. Scrapping or otherwise (I could have purchased orange flats, but totally chickened out today!)

Here is my inspired layout:
The orange is really not my go-to color, but I really enjoy how fun this layout is. I played off of the orange with the aqua woodgrain. I just love this washi tape (Amy Tangerine), and was so happy to use it. I realize how bowed the paper looks in this photo, as the washi is actually a straight line. Oh well, I guess I need to improve my photo setup!

All in all, pretty successful by my account. :)  Now, check out Brenda's layout and see how she did!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge: May Kit!! & Giveaway

As most of you already know, I love Counterfeit Kits. I have a pretty large stash, and don't really need to buy any more (even though I sometimes do...) Any time I can use up what I already own, and make it a fun challenge is even more fun! This month's kit is using Studio Calico's City of Lights kit. Which is pretty fun with it's pastels, greys, greens, blues, pinks and florals. Also, it has a grouping of fun lettering and BICYCLES! And I had the perfect stamp for this, my American Crafts Peachy Keen stamp set.

Loving all of the cute greens. Which is fun, because I never really use a ton of green. Good thing I got some great MME, Sassafras Lass, AC Peachy Keen, Cosmo Cricket and other fun florals and plain papers. I just love those Sass and Crate Paper florals.
See the cute stamp!! Isn't it just perfect! Love the khaki and grey lettering.

And a fantastic little card kit. Now this card kit doesn't have any card bases because... I'M GIVING IT AWAY!! Yup, that's right. You can win this card kit! Comment on this post before Wednesday May 9, at 11:59 PM. It's super cute and all ready to make some cute Mother's Day/Wedding/Birthday/Spring loveliness. (PS. I love new followers!)

I even included a plastic fork with both three kinds of washi tape and two kinds of lovely twine. Yup, a plastic fork. It's actually the perfect way to take small amounts of washi and twine places!!
 Good luck!! Pin It

MWM Amethyst #1 and Crop Challenges!!

I was actually able to scrap EVERYTHING for the www.scrapbooksteals.com Online Crop Challenge!! I love when the SS team has their Ustream chats, both online and video. It's just so much fun to see the ladies in all their glory, as well as be jealous of some of the lovely ladies that actually get to spend time in Utah with them!!

Challenge #1: Amethyst Mid Week Mojo Sketch #1
I  got Hipstamatic's additional app that takes photo booth photos called, IncrediBooth. Gotta love anything that creates amazing photographs!! Anyway, Kristy Lee over at SS created a wonderful sketch that included photo strips! So, I got to use them!! I created a collage in Picasa, and it was super easy. I added another cute Hipstamatic photo of Miss I, and used all of my lovely Amy Tangerine AC papers and embellies!!
AC Amy Tangerine papers and embellishments, Cosmo Cricket Alphas

Challenge #2: Keepin' it Real
This photograph looks super sweet, right? Can you tell that she's actually wearing my sweatshirt, and has of course passed out? Oh yeah, this is a wonderful day of no nap, throwing stuff all over the grandparents' house, and having a potty training accident, with no extra clothes. After throwing a huge fit, she passed out in the car and we refused to go home until she woke up. Gotta love two year olds, right?
Echo Park Little Girl, Fancy Pants chipboard from my Counterfeit Kit, AC kraft, chalk inks

Challenge #3: Scrap that Stash!
My stash is located in my back laundry/extra/spare room. I tend however, to use the kitchen table for all creating though... And boy does it need some cleaning!!
COUNTERFEIT KIT CONTENTS: Sassafras Lass papers, Foldies, Paper Whimsies, AC Thickers, MME DeLovely paper, BG Curio paper

Challenge #4: Something Old, Something New
If you've noticed, I love my Sassafras Lass papers. Now that they are no longer creating product that isn't involved with Studio Calico... I've been super hoarding my stash. This paper set was purchased in 2005-06. I remember it, because it was during one of T's first business trips. Anyway... this layout had to include Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and/or Something Blue. The old is the paper, as is the blue in the paper and letters, and the new is our new baby that will be born in June!
Sassafras Lass Hog Heaven papers and stickers, SL flowers and In a Stitch Blooms, and SL alphas

Challenge #5: Photo Challenge for the Online Chatters Only!!
This was from the online chat. I took separate photos and created a collage. We had to include the following:

1.     2 sheets of patterned papers for each ROYGBIV (14 total)
2.     17 buttons
3.     1 photo of ourselves
4.     chipboard or letter alphas that say “I love scrapbooksteals” or "I <3 SS"
5.     1 piece of chocolate
6.     pinwheel
7.     1 pair of decorative scissors
8.     and an adhesive runner

Yes, I actually scrapped in Salt Lake City...

Here are a few of the many cards that I made using my new October (Fall themed) Counterfeit kit. I really need to get the photos for it up, but they weren't that great... So I've not been in a huge rush to post them.

Anyway, there are two girly cards to start. The first is perfect for a birthday, and the second just a great hello card. I even added Stickles to the multi-colored stamped candles.
The rest are just an assortment. I love all the woodgrain, pinks and blues!
This is a small, square card. Perfect for a mini gift enclosure. I do however have to make an envelope for it.
While I wasn't looking, my friend Venetia added the "sexy" underneath the "Hello". I thought it was funny, so it stays.
Just a LOVE card. 'Nuff said.
This is for a cutey 7 year old's birthday in December. Her favorite color is orange. So I added an orange banner!
This is another oddly-sized card. I thought I was cutting the right size of paper. Nope. Oh well. It will fit into a standard envelope quite easily.
Hope you enjoy! Tomorrow is a few more Authentique projects!! Pin It
